The microbiome and the first 1000 days of life

  • When: Tuesday 9th June
  • Time - 18.30 - 19.30 pm

The first 1000 days of life – the period from conception to two years of age, represents a critical window in early childhood growth and development. The assembly of the microbiota alongside endocrine, immune and metabolic pathways indicates a tight regulatory interdependence, with poor microbial development implicated in numerous pathologies. During this webinar Christina will discuss: the importance of this initial colonisation, the factors that may impact its development and the potential of early intervention with a strain specific probiotic approach to improve the short and long term health of our next generation.

Presented by Christina Georgallou BSc. (Hons), DIP, CNM
