Summary

We are searching for an experienced Finance Assistant to join our growing Finance team.  As pioneers of the probiotics category, Optibac has long been championing the gut health revolution, tirelessly educating professionals and consumers alike on the benefits of friendly bacteria. Finance plays a critical part in these efforts.

Main Purpose and Scope of The Job

The primary function of this role is to carry out various finance activities, to a high standard of accuracy, ensuring the timely completion of the company monthly management accounts.

In addition, to support the finance team in the management of customer credit control, expenses analysis and other finance duties.

Tasks & Responsibilities

The role is varied and tasks include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Finance Tasks

  • Monthly petty cash analysis
  • Credit control
  • Debt chasing
  • Taking and posting customer card payments into NetSuite
  • Daily checking of bank payments and posting into NetSuite
  • Allocating payments received via cheque
  • New account opening
  • Maintaining existing accounts
  • Liasing with Trade Customer Care Team regarding credit terms
  • Sending monthly statements
  • Checking monthly mileage expense claims. Quarterly review of fuel rates.
  • Worldpay reconciliations
  • Expenses analysis for cash and company credit card expense claims
  • Sorting company post
  • Assess mobile phone activity
  • Maintaining/issuing foreign currency floats, balancing/analysing cash expenses and reconciling float balances
  • Purchase ledger duties
  • Ordering company stationery and furniture
  • Monitoring and actioning Finance inbox
  • Assist with general administrative duties

Essential Experience

  • Working in a Finance environment
  • Solid understanding of accounts or book-keeping
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
  • Hands on experience of accounting software
  • Providing excellent customer service

Qualifications

  • Education to GCSE A* - C standard in English and Maths
  • AAT or equivalent qualification would be preferred
