Are Optibac supplements enteric coated?

None of the capsules in the Optibac range are enteric coated. They have been scientifically proven to survive to reach the gut alive without the need for enteric coating.

Can I take Optibac on a FODMAPs diet?

We have a number of suitable FODMAPs friendly products, including Every Day, Every Day EXTRA, For Those On Antibiotics, Travel Abroad, and For Women.

Do Optibac use maltodextrin in their supplements?

Accepted Answer

Yes, we use a very small amount of natural maltodextrin as a stabilising excipient in three of our products: One Week Flat, Babies & Children, and For Women.

My child has allergies. Are your supplements suitable?

Accepted Answer

All our children’s supplements are free from gluten, nuts, seeds, soy, yeast, and dairy. For other allergens, please contact our Nutrition Advisors for specific advice.

The whole Optibac range is suitable for those with lactose intolerance. If you have a serious dairy allergy or follow a strict vegan diet please note that the added Vitamin D3 in Babies & Children and Women's Wellbeing is vegetarian and suitable for those with a dairy allergy.

All Optibac supplements are wheat free and gluten free. They are all therefore suitable for those suffering from coeliac disease, a gluten intolerance or wheat intolerance.

All of our products are free from nuts, seeds, and eggs.

Why are Babies & Children and Women's Wellbeing not vegan?

Accepted Answer

The added Vitamin D3 in Babies & Children and Women's Wellbeing is vegetarian and suitable for those with a dairy allergy. In our children's range, both Baby Drops and Kids Gummies are vegan.

Why do some of your products contain fillers?

Accepted Answer

Friendly bacteria are absolutely tiny live microorganisms – they can’t be seen by the naked eye (our skin is covered in them…but we can’t see them!). They also need a very specific environment to keep them stable (alive). Therefore, to ensure the quality of the product, the addition of a small amount of carefully chosen, neutral bulking agent is used when necessary.
