National Account Executive

Wren Laboratories is a successful, family-run business based near Andover, Hampshire. It produces a range of health supplements called ‘Optibac Probiotics’. The company is committed to producing high quality products, providing excellent customer service, and achieving a vibrant & inspiring workplace. The products are sold in the UK, Ireland and many export markets via multiple different sales channels including pharmacies, health food stores, grocery, direct to consumer website, online retailers, and marketplaces.

The Nationals sales team is highly dynamic, with strong technical and commercial aptitude.  We are on an exciting growth trajectory in the channel and have recently secured the position of the leading brand of probiotic supplements. Overview

To manage select accounts within the Nationals channel whilst supporting the NAMs by analysing sales, market, and category data to provide actionable insights to support strategy direction. We are looking for someone who has natural tenacity & curiosity to do things differently.  You will be hungry to seek out opportunities from facts and will be a regular contributor to the external retailer and internal meetings.

National Account Executive Responsibilities:

  • Lead select National Accounts in line with channel strategy.
  • Use brand insights & category data to develop creative & compelling consumer centric, brand building JBPs.
  • Forecast sales; manage budgets, targets, and P&L; prepare account plans & develop commercial strategies.
  • Manage negotiations, attend meetings, and build relationships with buyers to ensure long-term success.
  • Lead on winning new business opportunities for the channel.
  • Manage admin tasks such as NLFs/POs/retailer portals/CRM/expenses.
  • Successfully launch NPD in line with brand strategy.
  • Work with marketing teams to implement best-in-class promotional execution and visibility for all trade promotions.
  • Report weekly and monthly sales numbers.
  • Proactively check instore and online presence, implementing relevant fixes where appropriate.
  • Monitor competitor activity, with view to find new opportunities to win in market.
  • Become a regular collaborator cross functionally within account teams in alignment with NAM to support day to day efforts and planning.
  • Secure trade investment accurately with our finance teams through accurate planning of activity and Purchase Order recording.
  • Leverage analytics (Nielsen, Dunnhumby & IRI) to assist the channel to support advance range review planning & secure new business.
  • Identify the best ROI through price promotion & trade media analysis to facilitate development of successful future JBPs and media plans.
  • Provide regular EPOS analysis, influencing the Sales and Brand teams for corrective action.
  • Maintain the channel dashboard reporting on sales forecast vs. actuals (Ex-factory).

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise:

  • 3+ years of working within an FMCG sales environment.
  • Good understanding of retailer JBPs / range review processes.
  • Knowledge of large retailer back-office portals useful.
  • P&L experience, analysing price promotion triggers.
  • Commercially astute with experience using Dunnhumby, Nielsen & IRI, desirable.
  • Proficient within Microsoft packages Word, PowerPoint with high levels of Excel.
  • Analytical mindset, and good eye for detail to source data and confidently present to internal & external stakeholders.
  • Ability to collaborate cross-functionally and externally well.
  • Strong presentation skills.
  • Excellent organisation and prioritisation skills.
  • Proactive, responsive and results driven individual.

Job Location: Hybrid or remote, with travel to the office (Andover) and account locations across the UK.
Hours: Full time (40hrs).
Salary: Competitive salary, based on experience.
