Main Purpose And Scope Of The Job

We are seeking an individual with passion and determination to take the Optibac brand to the next level in Vietnam. The ideal candidate will lead high-level commercial negotiations, strategic planning and marketing initiatives, whilst driving operational efficiency. The candidate will be given strategic authority over Vietnam, encompassing sales, marketing, and operations.

Flexibility is essential at Wren Laboratories, with all teams working closely together to support and develop the ‘Optibac’ brand, so occasional additional support duties may be required in other areas of the business.

Tasks And Responsibilites

This document outlines the duties required of the post to indicate the level of responsibility. It is not a comprehensive or exhaustive list and duties may vary from time to time but these would not change the general character of the job or the level of responsibility.

The post covers three key areas:

1.      Market Development and Planning:

  • Identify market development opportunities in Vietnam.
  • Address and mitigate key risks and challenges.
  • Develop annual business plans to include sales, distribution, and resource planning. Sign off on plans created by international account managers.
  • Collaborate with the brand team at HQ to create tailored plans for brand awareness and business growth in key regions, especially Vietnam.
  • Share best practices for retail and online sales, including marketing materials, product training, and social media activities.
  • Manage the onboarding of new partners in the region. Ensure they are trained on Optibac brand and products. 

 2. Customer Relations and Negotiation:

  • Act as the Senior point of contact for existing distributors, managing escalated customer issues and leading high-level negotiations.
  • Conduct regular review meetings with international account managers to ensure annual plans are on track and adjust as required.
  • Take commercial responsibility for administration, budgeting, planning, forecasting, sales, and profitability.

 3. Operational Management and Team Leadership:

  • Manage budgets and set performance objectives within the existing business team.
  • Conduct market visits as agreed with the Distributors & the Head of International.
  • Lead the education and training plans for Optibac Vietnam, engaging healthcare professionals and sales staff effectively.
  • Uphold and cultivate the Optibac values and ethos in Vietnam.
  • Lead the Operational management for the Vietnamese market. Optimise importation process and in-market deliveries. Ensure legal and regulatory compliance. 
  • Be accountable for training and development plans for international account managers, including appraising performance.

Desirable Skills & Abilities

  • Experience working with large distributors in Vietnam, within FMCG or healthcare.
  • Experience working with national retail chains such as Long Chau.
  • Good understanding of the nutritional supplements and functional foods market in Vietnam.
  • Familiarity with business software such as Microsoft Office.
  • Continually demonstrate confidentiality, discretion and dependability.
  • Strategic thinking and highly analytical.
  • Demonstrated adaptability, agility, and resilience in navigating dynamic work environments and effectively responding to changing circumstances.
  • Excellent interpersonal and customer-facing skills.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, in English and Vietnamese.
  • Flexibility, ability and willingness to learn and pick up new processes.
  • The ability to work accurately, with attention to detail.
  • Demonstrate driven, hardworking and self-motivated attitude.
  • The ability to prioritise tasks in order of importance and meet deadlines efficiently.
  • Willingness to undertake occasional travel, both domestically within Vietnam and internationally.

Knowledge, Qualifications & Experience

Previous 5 to 8 years’ experience desirable. Candidates at this level are expected to have a solid understanding of the market, industry, and proven leadership skills.
